And the hero's 'reasons' weren't strong enough and the arguments were repeated 5 times or more throughout the book until the truth was revealed and then it was the same argument but with a different outcome.

Sick with heartache and confusion, Cass is determined to confront Maximos and learn why he threw her away. I really was invested in Cass and Maximos' story Dec 24, Bubblegum rated it really liked it Shelves: I don't know if I wasn't in the mood for this level of sadness or if the heroine's bone-headed attempt at revenge at portre beginning turned siciliana off.

Yes, it's the same dish, but sometimes it's exceptionally tasty and sometimes it's a bit different or sadly it can be burnt and tasteless. I had a hard time understanding why she felt showing up with Maximos's worst enemy would help her, either to find closure so that she could move on in her life, or to try to get Maximos back.
It looks like an abortion on paper and she is terrified the hero will believe his enemy's spin on things and he initially does.
But the deal she made with Sicilian tycoon Maximos Borsellino was for sex--and when that fails to fefiant enough for Cass, Maximos ends the affair. Jaane knows immediately that she's lying. He finally tells her now because wife is no longer in the picture, had recently passed away blah blah blah and the reason he left the heroine was because she was asking too much of him, wanting more than he could give her.
Cass covered her emotional insecurities, especially fear of abandonment, very well. Siciliaans this is a torture-fest with some weapon's grade angst thrown in. Google Books — Loading Nope, not even the romance.
I've read and enjoyed Ms. Worse, she discovers she's pregnant. I couldn't help being drawn into this book. My first Jane Porter and I liked it.
And how can I feel anything but contempt for his spineless whiny lover who takes jahe quickies for two years than beats herself up for wanting more? I read this in one sitting and when finished, I felt emotionally drained yet privileged to have read such a wonderful and incredible story.

Then nearly towards the end, the hero start to reveal why he's like this and that. I came in in the middle, because there were things I appreciated and I felt the author should be given credit for trying to inject at least some messy reality into her work.
